AB - <p style="text-align: justify;">The paper deals with periodic systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs).
A new approach to the investigation of variations of multipliers under
perturbations is suggested. It enables us to establish explicit conditions for the stability and instability of perturbed systems.</p>
