Obesity is the main cause of lifestyle-related disease, which is in turn the main cause of death in Japan. Aerobic exercise is more effective than anaerobic exercise in burning body fat. The present study identified conditions that enhance the burning of body fat during aerobic exercise, including the effects of wearing support pants. Twenty-one young Japanese women completed aerobic exercise sessions while wearing each of three types of support pants. Total body fat burning during aerobic exercise was 16 times greater than that at rest. Partial-compression garments helped reduce body fat more efficiently than both non-compression and constant-compression pants.

Electrospray coating is a method of generating fine droplets of polymer through high electrostatic charging. It involves electrohydrodynamic process for forming fine polymer droplets. These droplets are highly charged that promotes self-dispersion which results in uniform coating on substrate. Electrospray coating can be successfully utilised as a coating technique to coat textile substrates. Textiles substrate coated with electrosprayed polymer droplets have a large specific surface area and it facilitates submicron range coating compared to conventional coating methods like roller coating or knife coating. This research study investigates the electrospray coating of thermoplastic polyurethane polymer on textile substrate. The results showed that electrospraying facilitated the submicron size droplets deposition on textile substrates which imparted the waterproof property to the substrate without altering the moisture management and surface properties of textile substrate.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of woven construction and tension of warp and weft in the woven fabric on the seam slippage using a new approach with video analysis. The method includes measuring the surface of the resulting hole after subjecting the samples to seam slippage test, described in standard HRN EN ISO 13936-1:2008. The new method provides a more detailed and broader description of seam damage caused by tensile stress. Testing was also conducted using the standard method by measuring the distance two adjacent threads. The results show that surface of resulting “hole” depends on the density of warp and weft and the weave of the fabric. The new approach enables a detailed overview of the seam damage after tensile stress.

The underwear fit and pressure comfort is a crucial importance. This paper firstly used the Untouched 3D Body Scanner to scan the 110 young female body, and extracts a total of 17 human body sizes related to underwear structure, in all the directions including the horizontal directionvertical direction and other direction. Through analyzing the data, this paper focused on that among the horizontal dimensions: waist circumference, abdomen circumference, hip circumference, and the thigh root circumference; Vertical dimension: height, waist high; and other size: lower trunk length is the biggest difference, and the key part that affects the underwear specification. To analyze these measurement results and contrast with the national female underwear shape series standard found that the most common is the intermediate of A shape, at present, so regard the female intermediates as main object of study. Assess this knitting fabric is suitable for the middle of elastic underwear, through the test of fabric gram weight, warp ⁄ weft, thickness and elasticity. Clothing can provide safety and comfort for persons exposed to both cold and hot thermal environments. To assess the potential impact of clothing moisture and wetness on fabric cooling, a series of wind-tunnel tests was conducted to quantify the evaporative cooling capacity of selected fabric samples. Single- layer cotton, polyester, nylon and silk were evaluated. The results showed that onset and magnitude of evaporative cooling was determined by the amount of water contained in a fabric sample. The results also showed that an exposed “skin” exhibited more cooling when covered with a fabric than when it was not. The information obtained helps better understand the evaporative cooling process for fabrics and assist in the selection of garment materials that optimize worker comfort and safety.
